According to Dr. Gary Chapman in The Five Love Languages – "How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate" there are five ways to express love emotionally to your mate.  Dr. Chapmen states in order to express love to your mate you need to “speak” in your mate’s language.  

Why is this important? 

Dr. Chapman's five ways to express love emotionally to your mate are:   Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service and Physical Touch.  Psychologists have concluded we all need to feel loved.  The need to feel loved is a primary human emotional need.  “At the heart of mankind’s existence is the desire to be intimate and to be loved by another.  (p.22)” 

Why is Strokes™ important for relationships?

Massage has relaxing and physiological benefits.  Strokes™ introduces the joy of discovery and the heightened awareness of arousal experienced when massage is performed in a committed relationship.  For couples where one or both partners connect to love emotionally through  “physical touch” such as a back rub, holding hands, caressing, sex and other ways of touching.  Strokes™ was designed and created by a physical therapist to:

2. Help couples to receive greater satisfaction from their mate’s touch
3. Teach people how to focus on arousal responses in their body
4. Help couples reaffirm their commitment through an improved touch

This class is the perfect alternative to "dinner and a movie".  It is also a solution to the massage dilemma within couples - "I like massages but my husband is too rough,"  or "My wife will try, but her massages are not good."  In this interactive class, couples learn what is REALLY important to their mate.     

In this fun two hours class you and your mate will discover each other's touch preferences by completing a "Touch Questionnaire".  This class is a unique time of laughter, learning, and discovery you both will remember.  Must be 21 years or older.  Gift certificates available.  Class includes needed supplies, instructional book, and light refreshments.  Weekday:  $145 per couple  Weekend:  $175 per couple.
